For the last two years,
the biggest issue that I have been concerned about is how a pianist of
classical music can survive in the twenty-first century and what should
the mission for that pianist be? The world of classical music, which I
would like to choose as one of my professions, is less popular in many
aspects, having smaller audiences, sales of CDs and cultural impact than
other fields of music such as jazz, pop, etc.
I believe
that the time when pianists have to be concerned solely with playing has
ended. Only practicing one's own instrument is an activity for students.
Without communicating with modern audiences,
I believe classical music can not survive. I believe I have also found
a way to keep the warmth and richness of classical music in this technologically
busy world. And most importantly, the method to grow and expand the use
various media by performers. I think I have a `sixth` sense which enables
me to express without words what I feel and experience through the `media`
of my voice and my actions.
To pursue this, I am going to New York City.
If music can heal the city and people, then I wish to be a part of and
contribute to that too. I communicate through music.
Also I will move there to find out
if Classical (Concert) Music can entertain young modern audiences. If
so, then how? One day, I hope to be a creator who can produce a high quality
multimedia performance stage that the coming generation enjoys and appreciates
at a low price.
My mission starts ... now.
